Build a partnership with a clear purpose

Good partnerships begin with an honest conversation about what each organisation wants to achieve and what it can contribute.

We help businesses and charitable organisations prepare for those conversations, identify potential partners and develop proposals with clear objectives and responsibilities.

Discuss a partnership

For businesses

We help you define your charitable priorities and consider how support could reflect your people, communities and business purpose. Our advice can cover giving programmes, sponsorship, employee involvement and the criteria you use to choose partners.

For charities and organisations seeking support

We help you research potential partners and explain your work in a way that is relevant to them. We can prepare proposal drafts, sponsorship options and discussion papers for your team to use.

Money, time and expertise

A partnership may combine financial support with volunteering, mentoring, pro bono work or practical resources, whether the partner is a business or a livery organisation. We help you assess what would be useful, achievable and proportionate for both sides. We can also advise on plans for payroll and matched giving. Payroll Giving arrangements are established through an approved agency selected by the employer.

Prepare for agreement

We help you clarify objectives, contributions, responsibilities, costs and measures of progress. You lead negotiations and enter any agreement, supported by your legal or tax advisers where needed.

Review the relationship

We help design proportionate reporting and review questions so both parties can understand what is working and what may need to change.

Our role

We provide advice, research and preparation support. We agree whose interests we represent and address overlapping relationships before accepting an engagement. Clients retain responsibility for approaches, negotiations, fundraising and delivery.
